The A.B.Gee business started back in 1968, when the company was founded by Alan Godkin. Alan’s father owned a toy shop in Ripley, Derbyshire for many years and the business was initially set up in the back room of the shop. Alan visited the Harrogate Toy Fair and placed his first order for the mere sum of £50. Alan would never believe that over 40 years later the company would employ over 50 staff.
A.B.Gee now occupies a 60,000 sq ft office and warehouse facility in the heart of the UK and supplies a whole range of customers from small independent retailers to some of the largest high street and online stores. The whole of the UK and Ireland are covered by a combination of its own sales force and agents, with many years of experience in the toy and model markets.
The company is now privately owned by three directors, all of whom have been with the company for over 20 years.
